How To Apply Search Engine Optimization
Many website owners know that they need search engine optimization (seo) to attract organic search engine traffic but fail to grasp all of the intricacies necessary to build and develop a website that is worthy of ranking in the top ten, let alone in the top position for competitve search terms.
SEO is a complex process with many opportunities to trip one of the many quality filters that work together to filter the wheat from the chaff so to speak.
Each of these filters works like a yes / no switch for inclusion within Googles main index. If your website fails any of these filters then you drop out of the listings so you need to meet minimum requirements in terms of load speed, unique content, naturalised keyword density, mobile compatability & neighbourhood associations just to be included and stand any opportunity of ranking anywhere in the listings.
Search engine optimization is driven by trust, quality and authority, all of which are accrued via the backlinks that point at the pages of your site.
Each backlink passes either good or bad factors to your site. Each link needs to possess the quality metrics that Google values including; coming from unique IP addresses, being ‘do follow’ coming from within relevant content, coming from a page that has a relevant link category, that in in Google index, that isn’t associated with a link farm or any IP addresses associated with link farms or networks and that don’t abuse link text density thresholds.
It is a long list of requirements which are all necessary. A potentially good link can soon harm your rankings if just one of these elements doesn’t pass muster.
